The Watch Professors is an online “homeroom” to learn about all things watch related. We strive to present content that sets us apart from other watch websites with an informed, yet friendly voice that speaks to seasoned watch collectors as well as watch enthusiasts, without overwhelming readers who are just dipping their toes into the watch scene. Here a roster of experienced professors with a variety of talents and backgrounds delve deep into their subjects and are happy to answer your questions. Meet the Dean: Adam Levy

Adam Levy is the Watch Professor and the founder of the Professor Media Group that was first created to support his first competition the New York International Spirits Competition over 16 years ago and later grew into the International Beverage Competitions Group holding beer, wine and spirits competitions in New York, Berlin, Melbourne and Singapore. That first media site is the respected Alcohol Professor followed by other websites that Adam actually enjoys and indulges in. He takes pride in being a “Watch Freak” from the time he saved up to buy his first watch just out of high school which he still owns today the Movado Museum Classic. It’s Adam’s passion for good drink and aspirational lifestyle that motivates him every day.

Before delving into the drink world, Adam earned a BA in Political Science and MBA in Business Strategy. He began his career in the tech field, working with ATT, Radware and other tech companies. Throughout it all, he pursued his personal passion for the world of liquor and began writing for multiple print and online sources. Adam is also a Co-Founder of a technology solutions company providing secure network solutions to some of the top companies in the New York Metro Area. He has also been known to provide special tastings events for his clients and through his tasting company “All Spirits Events

Adam lives in New York with his dog, Garrett Oliver, so when he is not running a tasting, visiting a distillery, winery or brewery, or heading up a competition, he makes sure to schedule his events around Rutgers Sports. He is continually praying to the College Football Gods to give Rutgers a Winning Football Season!

Meet the Editor in Chief: Amy Sherman

Editor In Chief Amy Sherman is a San Francisco-based freelance writer, editor and recipe developer. She is the author of WinePassport: Portugal and has written about beer, wine and spirits for both consumer and industry publications including Wine Enthusiast, Cheers,VinePair, Gastronomica, Architectural Digest, Fodor’s and TimeOut. For several years she developed wine pairing recipes for an online wine retailer and has written cookbooks for brands including Williams Sonoma and Keurig. Amy is a fan of bourbon, bubbly and Barolo and fell in love with beer during an extended stay in Belgium. She has a BA in Politics from UC Santa Cruz and an Italian language certificate from Instituto di Lingua e Cultura Michelangelo in Florence, Italy. She has been a speaker at many professional culinary, writing and blogging conferences, is a past board member of the San Francisco Professional Food Society and is currently on the board of Bay Area Travel Writers.
